Asus RTX 3060 gaming PC for $740

Just in time for Black Friday (open in new tab), Asus is setting the standard for pricing this year's RTX 3060-powered gaming PCs with the ROG Strix G10. With the exception of a few days of lightning deals, it has never been this cheap before.

Right now, the Asus ROG Strix G10 ranges from $1130 to $740 (open in new tab), surpassing everything we've seen so far ahead of Black Friday on November 25.

This price list (opens in new tab) is set up to let you know the price you should pay (or at least the soft caps, depending on other configurations). This machine is well below the $800 hurdle we set for a PC with Nvidia's RTX 3060 graphics card. And while it certainly may not have the latest and greatest CPU, Intel's Core i5 11400F (open in new tab) was a strong contender when it was released (last year) and remains a very important product today.

At this price, one would have expected at least a spinning-platter HDD, but that was not the case; Asus even offered a PCIe SSD at this price, a bit small at 512GB and PCIe 3.0 only, but if larger capacity is needed, an M.2 slots for possible upgrades. If you need an SSD, see our Black Friday SSD info (opens in new tab).

Also, honestly, you don't need more RAM. The specs page (opens in new tab) has no information on RAM speed, but even if it is abysmal, you have time (and spare cash) to buy more during Black Friday.

The $390 discount really isn't bad for something like this, and I have to say I'm a bit of a ROG fan, so I personally vouch for the quality here; I hope Asus is paying as much attention to their PCs as they do their laptops.
