General
Cyberpunk 2077" patch prevents boobs from sticking out of clothes.

Following CDPR's recent announcement of Cyberpunk 2077's first expansion, a full-fledged sequel, and the debut of a fantastic Netflix series, players have regained their enthusiasm for the game and are flocking back to it on Steam. Expectations are more realistic: The game was once slated to add a full-fledged multiplayer mode after launch, but no longer expects a major overhaul.

Patches for this game have mostly focused on bug fixes and small additions, and this one is no exception. Here are the full notes for patch 1.61 for Cyberpunk 2077, and arguably the most impressive fix is that apparently a player who had a female V avatar and changed her breast size discovered that her new breasts were sticking out of her clothes.

Perhaps we should be pleased, perhaps not; CDPR states that they have "fixed the problem with V breasts poking through clothing after resizing them in Ripperdoc."

If this seems vaguely reminiscent of anything else, it is probably that the game launched with a bug that allowed players to make their avatar's penis very large, and when they did so, the penis would stick out of their clothes.

The patch also adds umbrellas of "different colors and shapes" for NPCs to use when it starts to rain. This is a neat addition, and while it is always nice to feel like the world is more reactive, I find it interesting that this is probably the biggest addition in this patch.

CDPR also fixed various bugs based on missing collision detection. This is a bug that is often posted on forums and social media, where players would suddenly "drop" off the map and fall into a cyber void.

There are also several PC-specific improvements. Those who experienced a temporary frame drop when exiting the menu should be fixed. There was also an issue with achievements popping in the Epic Games Store version, but "if you have previously met the requirements in one save, you may need to try a new playthrough or from a previous save that has not yet met the requirements," so if this is affecting you, it is unfortunate This is a blessing in disguise.

This patch also supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1, which should improve performance for those using AMD machines.

Part of the charm of the patch notes is that you can miss out on interactions you didn't know about before, such as "You will no longer be able to play on horizontal arcade machines," which makes me a little sad. Here's another classic: "Fixed an issue that gave players unlimited gold if they put a corpse in a container or trunk, walked away, and came back." A story with murder built in.
