Terraria to Get Another, and Definitely Final, Update in 2023

This is totally, definitely, 100%, the last Terraria update. I promise you, this will be the sixth and final update to the 2D survival sandbox.

Terraria 1.4.5 is expected to arrive sometime in 2023, but Re-Logic has been awfully tight-lipped about what the update will be. We do know that it will include a crossover with Dead Cells - Guides will join characters from Slay the Spire, Risk of Rain, and Hotline Miami in Rogue Lite's "Everyone Is Here Vol. II" update. But as Re-Logic says in a forum post, the crossover will be a two-way street.

Re-Logic has said that work on 1.4.5 will begin "in earnest" in the New Year, after finishing the 1.4.4 hotfix. Any further details, the developer says, "will have to wait for the right time." He gave a cheeky nod to the hope that cross-play will be implemented next year, but it is unclear if that will happen with update 1.4.5.

It has been more than two years since Re-Logic decided that "Terraria" was done for and it took them only five months to release the final update. Since then, there have been things like the crossover with Don't Starve and the massive Labor of Love update just a few months ago; even Terraria's official Twitter feed said, "We really can't seem to help ourselves." Joked producer Cenx, adding, "We super mean it this time guys."

There is no doubt that Re-Logic will end this game with an update next year. Probably.
