Saints Row November Update Will Be a "Beast," Volition Announces

In last month's Autumn Update, Saints Row developer Volition explained that the rebooted open-world mayhem game is prioritizing fixes over new content, and while there have been a few hotfixes since its August release, the first major update is scheduled for late November. On the Patch Hub (opens in new tab), Volition described the November update as "a beast, with over 200 fixes and quality-of-life updates!" The company stated.

"You should see more pedestrians and police," Volition says. This is because Santo Ireso has not been busy since its launch, and with fewer pedestrians, it is less likely to cause havoc when they drive through in their stolen police cars. As for the cars, they will be "packed with new ways to manage an incredible fleet of cars, including more slots available and seven new garage locations."

Fixing the problems some players have had with co-op is apparently a "very important priority" and "a great deal of effort has been put into ensuring that this works as intended, including connectivity, minimap issues, and proper player reward credit."

Among other changes, combat encounters have been rebalanced to make "progression more fun and rewarding," notoriety levels are easier to escape, and collectibles are easier to find. In addition, collectibles that were previously found but not properly tracked are now recorded as having been found retroactively.

One of the things that worked well in the Saints Row reboot was customization, with a wide variety of boss appearance and clothing options. However, Saints Row 4 did not have a feature called a slider to change the voice height of characters. This slider will return in the November update.

Finally, there is haptic weapon feedback for the PS5 DualSense controller on the list, as well as "tons of improvements based on your feedback." Hopefully this will include the "reduction of repetition in some activities" mentioned in the fall update. One of the biggest problems with the reboot of Saints Row was that many of the open-world activities were tedious, and tasks like having to carefully drive a truck full of toxic waste across town quickly became boring.

The November update has been "completed, tested, and submitted" and should be online by the end of the month.
