It all began when the evil King Tefo heard whispers from an ancient race that had been forgotten across dimensions. Obsessed with incorporating the ancients into his reality, he ripped open a rift in the world, wreaking havoc in the process. But when all seemed to be swallowed up, the rift was closed. [With Tefo out of sight, kingdoms around the world began to rebuild. For a while, it seemed as if true peace would come, and the scars caused by Tefo's war would begin to heal.

It did not last long. While rumors of Tefo's return were flying, the kingdom of Rahil - your homeland - was once again on the verge of destruction. The king is in desperate need of a summoner who can stand against Tefo and his army.

So begins the story of Summoners War: Chronicles. It is a prequel to the immensely popular mobile RPG "Summoners War: Sky Arena," which has been downloaded over 160 million times worldwide. It is worth noting that "Chronicles" is not simply a repeat of the same content as "Sky Arena". Rather, it has the distinction of being one of the first open-world, real-time MMORPG titles playable on both PC and mobile devices.

In Chronicles, players take the role of a summoner, able to summon and command powerful legendary creatures. Character choices at launch include Olvia, a formidable mage, Kina, a powerful healer, and Cleaf, a stalwart knight. Once players have chosen their summoner, they will travel through a vast open world consisting of five continents.

In the course of their journey, players will discover, fight, and recruit legions of monsters. There are currently over 350 registered creatures, each with its own unique play style and skills. Each creature additionally has one of five different elemental attributes: fire, wind, water, light, and darkness.

Summoners have access to all five elements through their weapons. Strategic use of these elements is the key to success in "Chronicles. One must be familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each:

New monsters can be added to the three monster teams by using scrolls or monster shards, and by using the Altar of Smon. Monster shards are obtained when you summon a monster you already have and are used to grow and evolve the monster. Monsters can also be evolved using special creatures called Rainbow Angemon.

Chronicles' open world includes a vast main story quest and several side quests in each of the five regions. Players can also gather materials by foraging, mining, and fishing, which can then be used to create items and equipment for one of the game's professions. Guilds also play an important role in "Chronicles," unlocking unique rewards that help with progression.
