Two Point Campus to begin testing mod support "soon"

The academically focused "Two Point Campus" (opens in new tab), a sequel to the medical management sim "Two Point Hospital," will support mods. No release date has been set, but developer Two Point Studios says it hopes to begin beta testing mod support on Steam "very soon."

Two Point Hospital also has mod support, but the studio says it is aiming for a more powerful and flexible option at Two Point Campus.

"In the previous Two Point Hospital, we enabled the Steam Workshop to allow players to create their own custom wallpapers, rugs, etc.," the studio wrote (opens in new tab). But in 'Two Point Campus' we want to take this a bit further, and for the first time ever, we will allow players to mod actual items in the game!" the studio wrote

.

Surprisingly, Two Point Campus will not use the Steam Workshop, but will work with Mod.io (opens in new tab) to enable cross-platform mod support. According to Two Point Studios, mod support will be phased rolled out, starting with item mods and moving on to "other areas of the game."

If you are interested in creating a mod and want to check out the beta, you can email the team at [email protected] to get information about participating. Two Point Studios says that having experience with Unity is a must for mod will be used to create, so it will be a "big help" for aspiring modders.

And for those who like Two Point Campus but are not really interested in mods, the studio said it has "a lot more to talk about in the near future."
