The Twitter account "Can You Pet The Dog" (opens in new tab) has become so powerful that it is now essentially a game purity test. The idea is that if there is a dog in the game, you must be able to pet that dog. This has led to a surge of updates that offer pats, (open in new tab) mods (open in new tab), and new games that allow you to put your virtual hand on your virtual nose to make your virtual puppy happy. It is a grave injustice that there are no equally popular accounts dedicated to sharing the love of cats. If there were, one might ask, "Why can't I pet a cat in Cyberpunk 2077?

It took a few years, but a very important mod by the creator deceptious of NexusMods (opens in new tab) allowed V, a playable character in Cyberpunk 2077, to pet his cat Nibbles in his apartment This is quite nice. This is quite nice. I partially appreciate that patch 1.6 (open in new tab) let us take a picture of Nibbles, though.

Thanks to deceptious, I can now give Nibbles a chin scratch after a little photo shoot. There is one condition for this modification. After entering the apartment and greeting Nibbles, I leave the shower room and wardrobe, at this point the cat should have wandered into the laundry basket and made herself at home. Here you can pet her and the animation should work.

You are not free to pet her anytime, anywhere, but it is better than nothing.

If you're confused because you don't have a cat in Cyberpunk 2077: Nibbles is actually a stray cat that V can find in the hallway of Megaville H10. If you leave food in that hallway, Nibbles will appear a short time later and eat from a bowl. V can then bring them into his apartment. Now all we need is this mod to give our feline friends the love they deserve.
