General
Activision concedes and grants double XP tokens to "Modern Warfare 2" players.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is available in several versions: the Basic Box for $70 and the Vault Edition (opens in a new tab) for $100, which includes additional operator skins, a first season Battle Pass, 50 Battle Pass tier skips It includes a number of extras, such as a copy of the game. The campaign also offered 10 hours of double XP and double weapon XP tokens to anyone who pre-ordered the game, as long as they pre-ordered from the Call of Duty: Warzone, Vanguard, Black Ops - Cold War, and Modern Warfare in-game stores

Some enthusiasts were.

Some avid Call of Duty fans missed that point and were subsequently disappointed when they realized that the Vault Edition they purchased did not include the tokens; several threads were posted on Reddit inquiring about the lack of tokens;

The game's pre-release version of the Vault Edition was also sold at the same time as the Vault Edition.

Pre-release promotional materials stated that the tokens were "in-game for Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Vault Edition through the store," and Reddit has received a number of replies accusing posters of failing to read that statement. To be fair, however, the line regarding the in-game store requirement is near the bottom of the page, under a heading that somewhat vaguely states "In-Game Store 2XP Bonus."

Some Redditors feel that this is devious and misleading advertising on the part of Activision, and the word "bullshit" is often used in multiple threads.

"I can't believe how many people are making excuses for "not reading it," wrote redditor enzeetee (open in new tab).

"Are you kidding me? We paid the same amount as others who got the Vault version. Why download a game to buy another game?""I play on PC and I bought it through battle.net. It's the same company. I don't care if I buy it from the store. This is the most greedy and outrageous sales tactic I have ever seen."

A significant number of redditors have also called for Activision to give XP tokens to everyone who buys the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition, and that is about to happen.

"We understand there has been some confusion about the in-game store exclusive rewards for the Vault Edition," Activision said via Call of Duty's Twitter feed." Therefore, we have decided to reward all players who currently own or purchase any version of the MWII Vault Edition with 10 hours of 2x XP tokens and 10 hours of 2x weapon XP tokens." If you own the Vault Edition and have not already, the tokens should appear in your account within 48 hours.
