Film studio and general entertainment giant Lionsgate wants to make a big-budget video game based on the movie "John Wick," and has received positive proposals from game studios. Studio executive John Feltheimer told investors at the earnings call that Lionsgate is excited about the project.

"I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe we can do a big AAA game based on 'John Wick. We are open to suggestions. We're open to suggestions," Feltheimer said (transcribed by IndieWire). (opens in new tab)

Three John Wick series have been made, all of which have been successful. The series so far stars Keanu Reeves, who, as we all know, has given up (opens in new tab) appearing in video games. A spin-off movie starring Ana de Armas is also in the works, with the fourth John Wick film due out in March 2023. A prequel series is also in production.

This is, of course, a moment to note that John Wick already had a game, the excellent tactical puzzle "John Wick Hex," which was released in 2019 It was a small game by Bithell Games, but its slow-mo turn-based puzzle captured the rhythm of Wick's gunfights beautifully.
