Finding the best mods in Teardown just got easier.

Finding the best mods in Teardown just got easier.

The voxel-based destruction sim Teardown (opens in new tab) received a 1.2 update today that promises to make the process of discovering mods even easier. The new Featured Mod List, overseen by Teardown developer Tuxedo Labs, showcases a number of "new maps, tools, vehicles, mini-games, and more." [DimasVoxel's dog companion (open in new tab), Klimber and Klumbart's Montagna del Castello map (open in new tab), tislericsm's AI-controlled T-Rex (or TeaREX) mod (open in new tab Tuxedo Labs promises that this list will be updated regularly by the development team.

We have previously stated that Teardown's vibrant mod scene is one of the best things about the game, and anything that makes it easier to sort through the vast number of mods in Teardown's workshop is a good idea.

The 1.2 update adds more than just a list of notable mods. This patch turns Teardown's Muratori Beach map into a freely accessible sandbox level. Previously, the beach was only accessible in certain sections of the game's campaign. And if there's one thing I've always said, it's that pristine beaches need to be taught a violent lesson.

There's also a little Steam Deck love in the new update: 1.2 adds support for multiple controllers, which is useful for all kinds of people, but especially for those who want to use a different gamepad while playing on a docked Deck. Other than that, the patch promises bug fixes and an enigmatic, unnamed "update to the game's modding tools." [We like Teardown a lot around here and have written many (open in new tab) articles about the fun we had destroying its blocky, fragile world (open in new tab) It's also in the top 25 of the Top 100 PC Games (open in new tab). Expect more updates in the future.
