'Call of Duty' Killer Caught in the Net's New Thirst Trap

While the "Call of Duty" campaign is expected to see the return of such iconic series regulars as Captain Price, Soapy McTavish, Gaz, and Ghost, the most talked about character in "Modern Warfare 2" is actually the most evil villain. well known. Valeria Garza has single-handedly captured the attention of the CoD community, and there are already calls for her to become a playable operator (opens in new tab) in the multiplayer. Yes, that's because people are clamoring for her.

Note: Spoilers for the "Modern Warfare 2" campaign below.

Garza is a newcomer to the Modern Warfare universe, the anonymous head of the El Sin Nombre cartel and the ruthless ruler of the fictional Mexican town of Las Almas (where most of the campaign takes place). She is a former member of the Mexican army and an old friend of Team Price's newest member, Alejandro. He is understandably upset to see her use her military experience to become a powerful crime lord. Garza is undeniably one of the most evil characters on the roster, which includes a corrupt general, a PMC war criminal, and an aspiring terrorist. She is also sexy.

One can attribute Garza's popularity (opens in new tab) to her appearance (judging by the fancams already up on TikTok (opens in new tab), it is definitely a factor), but it goes a bit deeper than that. Despite appearing in only one mission and a few cutscenes, Garza leaves a lasting impression on a story dominated by grumpy-voiced men. Alejandro and Thorpe McTavish and Thorpe's 2009 Mohawk infiltrate El Sin Nombre headquarters to identify and capture the leader of the faceless organization. Thorpe is interrogated by Garza (who believes she is only the cartel's general manager, not the headman himself), and players are forced to answer trivia about who or what they are in the story so far to avoid being shot in the chest. Actor Maria Elisa Camargo, who also handled Garza's acting capture, really makes this scene her own, playing the good cop/bad cop interrogator well.

Camargo herself enjoys interacting with Garza's unexpected fan base and even accepts that it is a thirst trap.

"I'm honored to be embraced by the Call of Duty community. "Surprised and overwhelmed by all the comments on my social media (I read them all), memes, 'moms' and smart/detailed reviews about my performance. In a previous post, Camargo said of his foray into video game acting, "A whole new and challenging experience on set, and a SURREAL time with the most loving, kind, super talented and badass team from around the world!"

stated.

Personally, I still admire Farah Karim, the calm, precise, and vengeful freedom-fighting protagonist of the previous Modern Warfare campaign. Karim returns briefly in Modern Warfare 2 to help Captain Price take down a terrorist convoy, unfortunately the worst mission in the game.

I fully expect Infinity Ward to take note of Garza's growing fan base and respond accordingly. If there is no Valeria skin yet, it will probably appear. The enthusiasm speaks for itself.
