Twitch Streamer Amouranth "Seeks Legal and Spiritual Advice" Following Allegations of Domestic Abuse on Stream

Two days after coming out as a married woman and accusing her husband of domestic abuse (opens in new tab), streamer Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa said she has regained control of her finances and social media accounts and is now "free."

Siragusa, one of the most high-profile streamers on Twitch (opens in new tab), said that in an early morning streaming on October 16, her husband took control of her finances and forced her to stream for extended periods of time in Twitch's Hot Tabs category, even She alleged that he even threatened to kill her dog. She heard her husband insulting her, calling her a liar, and demanding that she leave the house. I hear her husband insulting her, calling her a liar, and demanding that she leave the house.

"I really didn't know what else to do because he was threatening to tweet shit," Siragusa said, adding, "He was going to live tweet it and I wanted to beat him up but ...... I'm sorry if I've provoked anyone with my past abusive language."

"That was actually the first time he heard his own voice on a recording. As I told you all before, when I recorded him, he refused to listen to the recording. I think when he heard his own voice on that call, it hit him how much of a jerk he was. It's like he didn't even realize it. I'm an idiot."

Siragusa said she now has access to her finances and social media accounts and is "seeking legal and emotional counsel." She added that her husband is "seeking help."

Siragusa also expressed surprise at the level of support she has been shown, even from those who normally condemn her. She said, "We've gotten a lot of messages. It's kind of crazy. 'I've felt so alone for so long, and now there's no end of people talking to me. Not in a bad way, but it's such a contrast. I didn't think people cared that much."

Looking ahead, Siragusa said she is "positive about the future" and happy to be "free [and] still alive."

"I really don't know what I'm going to do next. 'Hopefully, we'll have more animal streams. I think it's going to take some time to process that. I don't know when I'll be able to get back to a full time schedule. I'm trying to take it easy, at least for now. I don't have to show cleavage every day! I can wear clothes."

"I really don't know what's going to happen," she said later in the stream, again hinting that her husband controls her on-screen wardrobe."

"I hope people will see my boobs without showing them so much.
