Marvel's "Midnight Sands" hints at Deadpool joining team

The registered members of "Midnight Sons" (opens in new tab) have included a very large number of heroes. Most of them are C-rated at best, such as Iron Fist, Man-Thing, Morbius, Werewolf by Night, and Wong, but there are a few names made popular by the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Wolverine, Doctor Strange, and Blade. However, one that definitely does not make the Midnight Sands list is Deadpool.

That may change in the relatively near future. The Midnight Suns Twitter account has been "hijacked" by Deadpool, who has renamed the channel #DeadpoolSuns and says he will not relinquish control "until these nerds get me in the Midnight Suns game." Naturally, there is a Deadpool-esque video.

It's entirely possible that Firaxis and 2K are simply tapping into Deadpool's popularity as the launch of Marvel's Midnight Suns approaches. However, it is possible that the Merc with a Mouth will appear in the game.

YouTuber TonyBingGaming (open in new tab) saw a hint of Deadpool in July in the form of Bob Dovalina, aka Hydra Bob (open in new tab), who joined Hydra because he thought he had a good dental plan (he got confused with AIM) and eventually eventually became Deadpool's friend and sidekick. Bob also appeared in Deadpool's first movie (open in new tab), but as one of Ajax's hired guns, not as a member of Hydra.

Anyway, Hydra Bob is an enemy character in Midnight Sands, a niche character closely tied to Deadpool.

This is a bit more exaggerated, and like Deadpool's tweet itself, 2K may just be entertaining fans, but Deadpool's statement about Moon Knight may also make sense. A reference to Khonshu (opens in new tab), the Egyptian moon god, can be seen in the Midnight Suns teaser.

2K Games has not commented on the video, but retweeted it (opens in new tab) and asked, "How did Deadpool get here?"

and asked.

It wouldn't be too hard to shove one or two (or more) additional heroes into the game:

Also, if 2K is not going to actually use a very high-profile character like Deadpool in the game, the "Midnight Suns" to be promoted with a fake request for inclusion is very unlikely to me.

We'll know what's going on soon enough: Marvel's Midnight Suns will be released on December 2.
