One of the most exciting Fallout 4 mods in the near future is Fallout: London, scheduled for release in 2023, which will take us across the Atlantic to see how merry England dealt with a massive nuclear weapon drop. We've already seen much of this mod in this long gameplay video and another video that gives us a glimpse of the rideable bicycles and weaponized elephants.

There's one thing you won't see in Fallout: but you won't see Queen Elizabeth in London. The original plans for this mod included a ghoulified version of England's longest reigning monarch, complete with blue dress, fancy hat, and two little greedy corgi ghouls by her side.

However, with the real queen's death in September, the mod creators decided to remove the zombie version of Elizabeth from the full conversion project. (Note: Ghouls, especially wild ghouls, are sometimes referred to as zombies in the Fallout world, but are usually considered pejorative.)

Fallout's development team: London first tweeted the news last month that Queen Elizabeth had been removed from the mod, reminding fans that this had been planned all along: "When Her Majesty passes away, the Queen feature in the mod will be removed. will be removed. The new Fallout: London progress video posted yesterday officially confirmed this decision: The Ghoul Queen has been removed.

Project lead Dean Carter also revealed in the video that there were plans for Prince Charles Ghoul for Fallout: London. The video shows some concept art of the monstrous Prince (as well as the Ghoul Queen), but also confirms that Prince Charles (King Charles in reality) was also removed from the mod.

"Don't expect to see them there," Carter says. 'There's no point in asking in the comments, no point in complaining. This is the official stance of the MOD and it will not change." Carter says there is a plan to replace the missing monarch with something else, but "we'll have to wait and see" what that is.

As an American, I admit to being a bit puzzled by the extreme reaction to Queen Elizabeth's death. After all, it is their MOD and should satisfy their vision, not anyone else's.

The concept art and character design of both ghoulized royal families, especially the little touch with the Q on the queen's hat. Very Mario-like. I was looking forward to defeating the ghoulified queen and putting on that hat. But hey, knowing the internet, I wouldn't be at all surprised if someday someone mods the queen's ghouls (or at least the hat) back into the mod, so maybe there's still a chance.
