Overwatch 2 temporarily loses Bastion and Tall Bjorn

Two heroes from "Overwatch 2" have temporarily disappeared from the game as Blizzard fixes some serious bugs: both Bastion and Torbjörn are taking "temporary trips to the workshop," Bastion from all modes, Torbjörn has temporarily disappeared from all but Quick Play.

The reason for Bastion's emergency leave is obvious: the charismatic robot was able to call in an enormous amount of artillery, or as John put it, "as much [artillery] as I could click in the limited time Bastion's new Ultimate would allow. Very fun? Definitely. Fair" Unfortunately, no. There are a couple of collaged videos, but they're good for a laugh.

Given the severity of the bug, it makes sense that Bastion has withdrawn from the game altogether; as for Torbjörn, it's a little less exciting. Apparently, his Overload ability doubles in duration if the button is pressed at the right time. This means he can run faster and do more damage for longer. Given that he sticks with Quick Play, this must be an exploit that is rarely implemented.

The length of their suspension has not been stated. Perhaps when they return, the new players will have learned to play for objectives.

These are fairly innocuous bugs compared to the launch issues that "Overwatch 2" experienced, such as long matchmaking queues and "auto-buy" glitches. Some players are also, understandably, upset about the need to attach their phone number to their Battle.net account. This feature will be included in Modern Warfare 2.

Still, it's early days and the game is still a live service, not without a parade of teething problems.
