I still find it hard to believe that graphics cards will be reasonably priced in 2022." But while my brain has been assuming that GPUs have been a high-demand, high-cost item for the past few years, the XFX RX 6700 XT Speedster is available at a surprisingly reasonable price. It retails for under $479 MSRP.

It's a brave, new world after the Ethereum merge (opens in new tab).

This is great news. Because here's XFX's take on the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (opens in new tab) This GPU can deliver buttery smooth frame rates at 1080p and 1440p without missing a beat. Sure, it struggles at 4K and doesn't have the Nvidia frills like ray tracing, but for those who game on lower resolution (which, let's be honest, is still perfectly adequate) monitors, this card has you covered.

This is an RDNA 2 card, AMD's newest graphics card architecture, even though RDNA 3 will be released soon; it follows its RDNA 2 brethren by packing 12GB of GDDR6 memory onto the board, and it's a great match for RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 handily beating green-team competitors like the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 in terms of raw VRAM. It is also second to none in the clock speed department, albeit with a power consumption of 230W. [For now, the RX 6700 XT is the card of choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming, and it's priced reasonably. But if you need a new GPU right now and aren't too interested in Nvidia's latest absolutely huge offering, you could do a lot worse than getting this one while it's available at such a steep discount.
