Cheap Prime Gaming Monitors Allow for Dream Multi-Screen '90s Hacker Setups

In advance of Black Friday, Amazon Prime Early access will offer early access to Prime members. It's like a mini-Prime Day, if you will. It also means that retailers of all kinds are looking for a chance to bring in virtual people through their virtual doors over the next few days.

But, well, if this means discounts on PC gaming related products, then I'll be happy. I'm an ardent multi-monitor advocate, so sale season is an excuse for me to scramble to ape the 90s hacker movies of my youth and find space to add another screen to my desktop.

But you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good, cheap gaming monitor, or a bargain second (or third or fourth) screen for your rig. Nor do you need a $1,000 OLED. But you can do yourself a favor by choosing either an IPS or VA panel for your budget screen.

I cannot stress enough how disappointed I personally would be if you did not follow my advice and bought a TN screen. No matter how high the refresh rate is. You will be disappointed yourself.

But this brings me to my second point. Regardless of whether you play games or not, you should buy a display with a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz. All of the screens I recommend here for under $200 have at least a 144 Hz refresh rate.
