Amazon Prime Day 2, or Prime Early Access (opens in new tab), offers PC gaming deals Amazon Prime Day 2, or Prime Early Access, is a savings sale dedicated to PC gaming. Deals on everything from laptops to graphics cards are available, and other retailers are joining in on the savings event.

But the category that really stands out is storage. Many drives maintained their discounts from the first Amazon Prime Day in July, but in the past 24 hours, we've seen even more significant discounts. Many of our favorite drives have dropped to their lowest prices ever, and there are plenty of deals to be had just before we enter the second day of the sale.

Not only is the 1TB-spec WD_Black SN850 with funky heatsink (opens in new tab) a steal at $129, but if your budget allows, you can also get the new 2TB-spec SN850X drive for $199 (opens in new tab). That's still quite a bit of money, but it will last you a long time and you won't have to worry about making room for the next game.

If your budget doesn't reach $200, but you still want storage, the 2TB Intel 670p is a bargain at $126 (opens in new tab). Of course, it's not as fast as the best PCIe 3.0 SSDs, and it's not nearly as fast as the throughput you get from Western Digital drives, but if you need a lot of storage, this is as cheap as you can get now; the SK Hynix Gold P31 is not far behind at $160. It's not as good, but it's a bit faster as far as write performance goes.

Another option is DRAM-less. This involves removing the DRAM cache from the actual SSD, and decoupling a small amount of system memory, but makes the drive more affordable in the process; the 1TB Samsung 980 (opens in new tab) is certainly a solid PCIe 3.0 compliant product, but at only $80 Western Digital's 1TB drive, the WD_Black SN770 (opens in new tab), has my attention.

There are plenty of great deals on SSDs, but you only have one day today to get them.
