Skip to the Awful Prime Early Access PC Game Info

Amazon Prime Early Access (opens in new tab) Sale Day 2 is raging on, and we've found numerous bargain PC games, led by SSDs. However, there are some truly terrible deals lurking among them, waiting to hit your wallet. It doesn't matter what the discount is: you don't need gamer socks (opens in new tab).

As with any major retail "holiday," some deals are unbelievable and some are not. Some sellers will drive up their prices before discounting. Sorting through thousands of sale items can be a challenge.

Personally, I like to use sites like CamelCamelCamel (opens in new tab) to see the price history of each item. Here, you can paste in the product name or URL and it will spit out the entire price history, including third-party Amazon resellers.

There are two kinds of bad deals: good ones that appear to be marked down but are actually close to or at normal prices, and terrible ones that are not recommended, regardless of whether they are legitimately discounted.

For example, the WD Black 4TB SSD on "sale" for $479.99 (opens in new tab). This product is discounted by 50% from its list price of $949.99. However, according to the price history, this SSD has been at this price for several months, and just before Prime Early Access began, the price was returned to its original 2020 launch price of $949.99.

Ironically, a not-so-bad SSD example is also offered by WD Black. This 1TB SN850 NVMe SSD is $148 (opens in new tab), which is actually the lowest price to date.

Below I've collected some really bad deals to avoid at all costs and combined them with alternative deals that are actually worth your time and money.

I'm still looking for good gamer socks. I'm beginning to think they don't exist.
