Mount & Blade 2 Finally Supported by Steam Workshop Ahead of Full Release

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord finally exits Early Access on October 25 (opens in new tab). The latest version adds Steam Workshop support (opens in new tab) to the sometimes buggy and always brilliant medieval mercenary simulator.

Until now, the best place to find mods for Mount & Blade 2 has been the Nexus Mods site (opens in new tab). While this is still the case (at the time of this writing, about 2 hours after Bannerlord has supported the Workshop), there is no doubt that many of the game's larger mods will migrate from Nexus to Steam fairly quickly. registering for mods on Steam is much more convenient than messing around with the mod manager, which is Steam is much more convenient than fiddling around with mod managers.

Workshop support has been a regular request from the Bannerlord community since the game was released on Steam Early Access (opens in new tab) in 2020, and is one of several features that TaleWorlds will add before the game releases in less than two weeks In addition to Workshop support, the game will also include voice-overs for story dialogue and greetings, an updated AI to prevent subordinates from sticking to each other during sieges, and various Steam trinkets such as trading cards and emoticons.

Oh, and Bannerlord will also receive Banner (opens in new tab) by October 25. You should expect it to be in there from the beginning.

[8] [9] [10] [11] Not only this game, but Mount & Blade 2 (opens in new tab) has been one of my favorites since it launched in Early Access, even with all the junk. It's a big box with a weird and wonderful system that can't help but create an incredible story as you play. It's the kind of PC game that was born for its huge mod library (open in new tab), and Workshop support makes that library even more accessible.
