Streamer Amouranth Reveals She Is Married, Accuses Husband of Domestic Abuse

As Hunter Grooms (open in new tab) of esports company The Guard (open in new tab) discovered, Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa, one of Twitch's most notable streamers (open in new tab), Sunday In an early morning stream, revealing that she is married and providing evidence of her husband's abusive behavior, Siragusa claimed that her husband controlled her finances, pushed her to stream more than she wanted to, and threatened to kill her dog.

Grooms shared a sequence of four videos culled from Siragusa's stream. The videos should be viewed with caution because they show situations of emotional and psychological abuse. In the first video, she is talking with her husband on speakerphone. Siragusa questions why he threatened to kill her pet dog, and after a long silence, the man demands that she leave the house. In the rest of the video, the man accuses Siragusa, calls her a liar, and denies that he threatened to kill her pet dog. From this clip, it is unclear whether he knew what he was seeing in the video.

In a subsequent video, Siragusa states that her husband exercised financial control over her and threatened to "leave her only $1 million" if she took action against him. For context, a September Kotaku interview (opens in new tab) cites a monthly net income of over $1.7 million from Siragusa's OnlyFans, Twitch, Patreon, and other activities.

The streamer, whose income is what she was pressured to pursue, is known to work 12-hour shifts on camera; in Hunter Grooms' second video, Siragusa quotes a therapist who describes her situation as "a form of psychological abuse " and describes it as a "fancy prison." Siragusa also showed a text log of her husband berating and insulting her in relation to her streaming schedule.

The last part of Siragusa's stream (open in new tab) shows her response to a woman off camera asking if she had taken her medication, a question that confused Siragusa. As of this writing, the streamer has not been online or posted any updates since the incident.

In the aforementioned Kotaku interview last month, Siragusa describes herself as an independent entrepreneur with ambitions to open an animal shelter. These videos suggest that she is being exploited and abused by an intimate partner. That partner, she claims, wanted to hide her existence in order to better sell the fantasy of Amaranto. The streamer has previously been involved in a stalking case (opens in new tab) and a home arson case (opens in new tab). We will update this article as the situation develops.
