Konami Announces Silent Hill "Transmission" with "Latest Update" to Series

Following months of rumors and leaks, this week we may actually get to see what is happening to the Silent Hill series. Konami announced in a tweet (opens in new tab) that on October 19 it will host an event called Silent Hill Transmission.

Masahiro Ito, art director and monster designer for Silent Hill, retweeted the announcement (opens in new tab).

There are rumors that multiple studios are working on a Silent Hill game, apparently confirmed by Christophe Gans, director of the film Silent Hill. There were leaked images of a DMCA strike from Konami, indications that Bloober Team (developer of The Medium) is making a Silent Hill game, possibly a remake of Silent Hill 2, and something called Silent Hill: Short Message was rated by the Korean Game Evaluation Management Board last month.

Konami's tweet links to a website (opens in new tab), which currently only shows the time Silent Hill is scheduled to be sent. Whatever it will be, it will air on October 19 at 2:00 pm PT/10:00 pm BST (8:00 am GMT on October 18). Let's hope they don't announce a Silent Hill skateboard with a nurse on it (opens in new tab).
