The Medium" to be adapted into a TV series under the executive producer's supervision of "The Witcher".

More and more video games are having their moment on the silver screen, but somehow, Bloober Team's "The Medium" is next on the list.

The 2021 horror game will be adapted into a TV series, the developer announced today. In a machine-translated announcement, Bloober Team said it has signed a deal with Polish VFX studio Platige Image, which has worked on various short films and advertisements, as well as numerous cinematics in CD Projekt Red's library. The company has also produced a number of cinematics for CD Projekt Red's library. These films were directed by Tomasz Baginski, who was also an executive producer on the first season of Netflix's "The Witcher" and "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf," for which he also served as executive producer. He and "Medium" screenwriter Piotr Bavieno are said to be helming the project. [Bavieno said in the announcement, "The film industry and the video game industry are both close to my heart, and I am very happy to finally have the opportunity to bring them together." The story we told in the game was highly appreciated by players," he said. He also mentioned recent highly successful film adaptations such as League of Legend's Arcane series and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He added, "Being part of the creative supervision of such an important figure in Polish cinematography as Tomasz Baginski proves that we really do want to make something great. The entire team working on the concept of this series feels that they are working on something special, and we hope that this enthusiasm will show in the quality of the series.

In all fairness, it looks like a strong team that has tackled "Medium" and turned it into a respectable adaptation. Despite mixed reviews at launch (including a positive review by Leena Hafer in PC Gamer), the Bloober Team managed to recoup all of its development and marketing costs in just a few days. As Babieno noted, game adaptations of TV shows are coming into the spotlight, but not all of them are certified hits. Netflix's "Resident Evil."
