Update 5, 4:15 pm PDT: More players have survived the queue and started playing Overwatch 2, but it seems many are still having issues, Blizzard is not providing any more updates either.

Update 4, 2:15 pm PDT: The server queue and error in Overwatch 2 does not appear to be fixed, but if you click the globe icon next to the game version dropdown in the Battle.net launcher and switch to Asia, you can quickly log in I found that I can log in immediately.

Update 2, 1:20 pm PDT: Overwatch 2 servers are still unstable. Players are being skipped from the game to the menu or out of the game altogether. The login screen also displays "In queue: 0 players ahead of you" and sometimes a message about connecting to the game servers.

Update: According to a tweet from Blizzard CS (opens in new tab), the "unexpected server error" message that some players are receiving when trying to log into Overwatch 2 is being "actively worked on. The message appears to be an error (opens in new tab) for those who have linked their console and PC Battle.net accounts.

Original story Overwatch 2's servers began coming online a little earlier than scheduled, at 12 p.m. PDT (opens in new tab), but you're not the only one who can't log in.

If you preloaded "Overwatch 2" today and downloaded the small update, you can hit the play button and try to log in, although I've seen Twitch's live streamer successfully enter the quick play menu and queue, There are quite a few who have not, including myself.

I have seen thousands of people in the queue, and that number has grown to 40,000 (it really does). The login page spits out messages like "unexpected error" sending you to the end of the queue or "connection to the game server has been lost."

There is currently no fix for this error; Blizzard's customer support Twitter (opens in new tab) account has yet to mention it. This is probably a result of the servers going live early and having trouble with so many people trying to get in. All you can do now is keep trying to enter or wait patiently for the proper start time.
