New Humble Bundle Includes 400 Hours of the Best RPGs for $20

Hey, can I borrow the rest of your life?" because the latest Humble Bundle (opens in a new tab) is the greatest collection of CRPGs in gaming history.

Humble's RPG Legends Bundle includes Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, the expanded Siege of Dragonspear, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, and Pathfinder! The Wrath of the Righteous. Since these are all modernized and enhanced edition versions (except Pathfinder since it was just released last year), you don't have to spend time fiddling with mods to get them to work like I had to do in the past. It's easy for you guys.

We've named some of these games some of the best RPGs of all time (open in new tab), and for good reason. Baldur's Gate made Dungeons & Dragons cool again (open in new tab) in 1998, and it continues to define Bioware and its genre in two games and one expansion; Baldur's Gate inspired It would be faster to name a modern RPG that does not draw inspiration from Baldur's Gate than it would be to name one that does not.

Planescape (open in new tab), on the other hand, was a journey to the center of the self, preferring to question death, ideology, and belief. Whereas Baldur's Gate was extroverted and operatic, Planescape was introverted and introspective: Torment was inward-looking and introspective. The reason is that it is beautifully written and is something like 75% of the game is reading. No wonder the creators of "Disco Elysium," currently number one on PCG's Top 100 (open in new tab), say they were greatly influenced by this game.

"Baldur's Gate" and "Planescape" are the big stars, but it would be unfair to ignore the other games in the bundle. Neverwinter Nights" is a transitional fossil as Bioware switched from isometric games to the more straightforward third-person style of "KOTOR" and "Mass Effect," but it is a fun D&D adventure in its own right and has many fan modules Icewind Dale is a more combat-focused take on a "Baldur's Gate"-style adventure that can trace its lineage to modern games like "Pillars of Eternity" (and its developers). (there are some). As for Pathfinder, we liked it quite a bit when it was released last year (open in new tab), giving it 76% and praising its "meaty battle of war, politics and interplanetary travel."

All the games in the RPG Legends bundle can be had for $20 or about £17 at any point in the next 20 days. Just be sure to clear your schedule first.
