After a series of classic Kojima Twitter teasers (open in new tab), the developer revealed that actress Elle Fanning (open in new tab) ("Neon Demon," "Galveston") will appear in something Kojima Productions is producing.

During the Tokyo Game Show, the developer released a website and a cryptic tweet. Both feature an image of a silhouetted woman and the text "WHO am I?"

On October 5, Kojima tweeted, "The answer to 'WHO' at TGS is in the next 'WHERE'." That "WHERE" appears to have been PAX East, where content creator @n4sa found a Kojima Productions ad linked to a QR code that revealed the mystery woman to be Fanning. Furthermore, earlier on October 7, Kojima tweeted confirming that "WHO" is Fanning.

But the fun did not stop there. The day before, on October 6, the developer asked another silhouetted woman, "WHO is WHERE' (opens in new tab)" and replied, "I would like to know WHERE is my ASPIRIN." One astute fan in the comments section, @MichaelPayneV ( open in new tab) claims that this second woman is actress Shiori Kuzuma (open in new tab).

Now, what is this all about? It doesn't feel like "Death Stranding" to me, but Kojima is a beloved auteur for a reason, and I have no choice but to puzzle out his cryptic will. My guess is that this is a teaser for Kojima's aforementioned collaboration with Microsoft (opens in new tab) rather than something from the "Death Stranding" series. And also ...... Is that fiber in Elle Fanning's poster?" Only Director Kojima knows for sure.

Kojima's text accompanying Elle Fanning's tweet (opens in new tab) "TGS -> 'WHO'->ELLE / PAX -> 'WHERE'->? / ???? →'???' →??????????????????????????????????????????" and it seems that one more of the five W's accompanied by silhouetted actors will appear in the coming weeks, probably to be revealed at The Game Awards 2022 in November. I'm going to argue that it is WHY'→BELOVED CHARACTER ACTOR PAUL WALTER HAUSER (opens in new tab) who is most famous for his role in "Richard Jewell and I Think You Should Leave."
