Get hooked on free Fishing Puzzle Browser Games!

I've got an idea! Get your weekend started by getting hooked on "Curious Fishing" (opens in a new tab). It's free, it's fun, it's full of fresh fish, and it runs in your browser. I guarantee that once you play a few levels, you won't stop until you solve them all.

This is not your traditional fishing mini-game. Created by developer RhythmLynx (open in new tab) (and brought to my attention by Wholesome Games (open in new tab)), Curious Fishing is a puzzle game. You drop a fish hook into the water and click WASD, arrow keys, or the d-pad on a simulated controller to move it in four directions. Your goal is to hook each fish in each of the 30 levels. The first one is easy. Simply match the hook to each of the four fish on level 1 and tap the space bar to reel them in. But the further in you go, the more complicated things get, and each new fish you discover is a little different.

Squid cannot pull in other creatures because when they are hooked, they spew ink and block some squares. If you hook a fish and pull it through the jellyfish's stinging tentacles, the fish's skeleton will remain on the hook. Dragging the crab into the obstacle will clear the way for the rest of the fish. In the later levels, there is also a turn-based challenge with a small green fish that moves one square each time the hook is moved. Catching them all requires a certain amount of wits and planning.

The puzzles are also quite challenging, and new levels add new twists to the mix, such as a new level where you must catch a number of crabs, but each one you collect shortens your fishing line and reduces the number of times you can move it. Although some levels are very complex, Curious Fishing never stresses you out. With the ability to undo moves, reset levels without penalty, and skip levels you don't like, you'll never feel like you're hitting a wall.

There is even a small aquarium in the main menu where you can take a break and look at the fish you caught. (If you like it, you can donate it to the developer via a link just below the game window.) Give it a try! (Opens in a new tab) It will make your Friday fun and weird.
