Cyberpunk 2077" also became one of the most played games on the Steam Deck

Valve has released its September Steam Deck Games Total Play Time rankings (opens in new tab), and CD Projekt Red's 2020 sci-fi open-world RPG is It ranked fourth along with repeat games from last month.

The fact that cyberpunk ranked so high is not too surprising considering that just last week we reported (open in new tab) that it attracted over 1 million players daily CD Projekt Red's 1.6 "Edgerunners" update (opens in new tab) finally added the long-awaited transmog system, and I can confirm that at least two of the hours I spent playing on the Steam deck were spent painstakingly sorting through V's attire.

Updates aside, the Netflix-streamed anime "Cyberpunk: Edge Runners" seems to have brought the owners of Cyberpunk 2077 back to Night City (open in new tab). Our unofficial animation editor, Wes Fenlon, seemed to think the cartoon was fun, and CDPR even added in-game items based on the cartoon, like David's jacket (opens in new tab).

We joked last month when we looked at Steam Deck's list of top games for August that everyone was using their Deck like a better Nintendo Switch (opens in new tab). This is because the Steam Deck plays Nintendo Switch games better than the Switch itself.

CD Projekt Red announced this week that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 20 million copies (opens in new tab). Cyberpunk 2077 will also release two expansions next year, V, which will reintroduce Keanu Reeves, and Phantom Liberty, which will bring back Computer Ghost's friend Johnny Silverhand.
