C-Sonic TX-1000

The Seasonic TX-1000 has top-notch build quality. In addition to excellent soldering work, Japanese caps are used throughout, including many polymer caps in addition to electrolytic caps, and a fluid dynamic bearing fan Seasonic engineers did their best to provide unprecedented high efficiency and quiet operation in all load ranges, while improving reliability Seasonic engineers have done their best to provide unprecedented high efficiency and quiet operation in all load ranges while improving reliability.

In terms of performance, this PSU is in the top league because it achieves tight load regulation on all rails, provides tremendous ripple suppression without the need for cumbersome in-line caps, and has very long hold-up times. On top of that, the efficiency of the 5VSB rail is high, and at light loads, this PSU achieves some of the highest efficiency values we have ever seen.

Thus, if you are looking for the best PSU for gaming at 1000W (open in new tab), this is it.

Seasonic has hit the jackpot with the Prime platform, starting with Gold efficiency and climbing to Titanium efficiency, and several other influential brands such as Asus (Rog Thor 1200W), Corsair (AX line), Antec's legendary Signature line Several influential brands have already incorporated this platform into their portaloinos.

If Seasonic could make more of these units, more brands would line up to get them, despite their high price. Unfortunately, however, the majority of buyers prefer more affordable power supplies with lower efficiency. Still, if an OEM is confident enough to offer a platform with a 12-year warranty, they will find this product to be bullet-proof.

Speaking of which, the manufacturing quality is top notch and Seasonic used the best parts available to make this platform. A Japanese manufacturer provided all the caps, and fluid dynamic bearings were used for the cooling fans. Hong Hua, the manufacturer of the fans, has proven to be a reliable manufacturer thus far, which is why they are so popular in high-end PSUs.

The single 12V rail can supply almost the full power of the unit by itself, and the minor rails together can provide up to 125W.

A major feature of the TX-1000 is that it has six PCIe connectors on a dedicated cable; it will have no problem powering energy-hungry graphics cards that should avoid using a single cable with two PCIe connectors. The only thing currently missing is a 12+4 PCIe connector, which will be added in a future revision of this platform.

The Seasonic Prime Titanium 1000 is the performance king in this wattage category.

Load regulation is tight on all rails and ripple suppression is good. Hold-up time is over 20 ms, and the power OK signal is accurate, with hold-up time exceeding 16 ms. Inrush currents are average to low.

Efficiency is very high over all load ranges, but higher efficiency was expected since the efficiency of the 5VSB rail is comparable to other circuits in the PSU. However, only the SilverStone Titanium unit leads in this regard, and thankfully the TX-1000's vampire power is low. Transient response is also good on all rails.

The 12V OCP trigger point is set correctly, but is too high on the other rails, especially at 5VSB, where the ripple becomes uncontrollable when this rail is overloaded The OPP is also high, but the platform is load tolerant. Nevertheless, it is not wise to overload a PSU for a long period of time. If the current PSU cannot meet the power requirements, a more powerful PSU should be purchased.

Importantly, the TX-1000 is one of the quietest PSUs available on the market. The high efficiency level contributes to this.

Seasonic's Prime platform continues to hold the performance crown even after several years of development; given the new requirements of the ATX 3.0 specification, Seasonic has adjusted it and added 12+4 pin connectors to make it compatible with future GPU generations need to do so. However, thanks to its high performance and excellent transient response, this will not be an epic headache.

The TX-1000 easily matches its competitors, and its sibling, the Corsair AX1000, was its main competitor, but since the latter withdrew from the market, the TX-1000 stands alone at the top of the charts. If there is a product worth buying to replace it, it would be the Super Flower Leadex Titanium 1000. However, with the 12-year warranty offered by Seasonic, there is no doubt that this platform is reliable and future buyers will have a long peace of mind.
