After disappearing for about three years, the Rainmaker hairstyle will return to Final Fantasy 14 as a Gold Saucer prize in patch 5.5.

The hairstyle originally belonged to Sisse from Final Fantasy Zero and was a special reward available in the 2017 Make It Rain event. It returned in 2018, but disappeared when the 2019 event rolled around, followed by its absence last year. Many event-exclusive items typically line the real-money Mog Station store, but the Rainmaker was not added.

Square Enix tweeted in October that it was "looking into the possibility" of bringing back the Rainmaker, but was rather quiet on the matter until this week when it announced that the hair would return as a Gold Saucer prize. Its price has yet to be revealed, but probably not too far off the 5,000 MGP at the time of the event.

Personally, I prefer a hair style that is a little less cartoon protagonist-like, but it is still super cool news for those who missed out on the game a few years ago or never played it. on Reddit and Lodestone's forums, there have been several over the years about its absence. Numerous posts were made about it, and it was one of the most requested things to be brought back into the game.

The hairstyle will appear in Patch 5.5 on April 13, bringing together the NieR-inspired Alliance Raid storyline and introducing a very familiar weapon.
