Arkane Lyon's FPS "Deathloop" has been delayed until September.

Game director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton released a video on Deathloop's Twitter announcing the delay. They said, "We have made the very difficult decision to delay the launch of Deathloop to September 14, 2021." Arkane has a strong vision for Deathloop and we do not want to compromise on it."

The coronavirus pandemic also appears to have affected the postponement, and Bakaba continues: "We need to do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of everyone at the studio. Deathloop was originally scheduled to be released late next month, on May 21. While unfortunate, it is never a bad thing for a studio to take extra time for the game and its developers. It will be just one of the many delays that will be expected during 2021 thanks to the pandemic. In recent weeks, "Humankind," "LOTR: Gollum," and "Back 4 Blood" have already been postponed.
