There hasn't been much Dota 2 news lately, other than an animated spin-off series on Netflix last month. The new hero is the hammer-wielding Dawnbreaker.

Dawnbreaker is a new melee hero, described as a warrior of the "Children of Light" and "molded from the heart of a young metallic star." Her primary technique, Starbreaker, involves swinging a hammer three times. With the final blow, the hammer slams down, impacting and damaging the enemy in front of her. Who doesn't love swinging a huge hammer around?

Dawnbreaker has three other abilities. Celestial Hammer sends her hammer flying in one direction, damaging enemies in the hammer's direction and leaving a trail of flames. Luminosity also activates after three attacks and heals allied heroes within 650 units around her. Finally, Solar Guardian creates a pulsating effect anywhere near an allied hero, damaging enemies and healing the team.

Dawnbreaker was implemented as part of the v7.29 Dota 2 update, which includes updated maps, XP changes, and new and removed items. The complete changelog is here.
