Spellbreak's first major update is now available.

The fantasy-themed free-to-play battle royale game Spellbreak hit the Epic Games store last September. It quickly gained 5 million players, and now developer Proletariat is continuing the fun with new updates.

Spellbreak's Chapter 2 update, nicknamed "The Fracture," is now available on all platforms. The update adds a new 5-on-5 objective-based mode where you must occupy and dominate zones to earn points for your team. Also, like other recent competitive multiplayer games, a seasonal ranking system has been added, as well as new costumes to purchase and new areas to explore.

According to Proletariat, the update includes "a huge amount of gameplay and balance updates, environment features, bug fixes, matchmaking improvements, UI/UX improvements, and much more." It is impressive that such a massive update comes just a few months after the game's initial release.

It is also worth noting that Spellbreak is no longer exclusive to the Epic Games Store, but appeared on Steam in December; it is also playable on GeForce Now and the game is available on all consoles.
