General
Almost seven years since the last patch, VVVVV has gained higher frame rates and other support.
As a direct result, it is about to be patched for the first time in nearly seven years.

Designer Terry Cavanagh explained on Twitter:" In addition to generally making the game run better on modern computers, the update finally adds 60fps support, new editor features (such as ghosting), and fixes a huge number of long-standing bugs!" . When asked if it would support higher frame rates, Cavanagh said, "I think it is interpolated, so it might support more than 60?" He replied. This is a resounding yes, as one of the players who participated in the update's beta reported that they recorded 2,406 fps.

If you would like to try the beta of this patch and have VVVVV on Steam, please do so: right-click VVVVV in the Steam library, select "properties" and then "beta" and it should appear in the list of betas you can join. Of course, there may still be problems, so there is a warning, "BEVVVVARE!"
