Missing maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are coming back "with a little more love".

After two weeks of silence about the surprise addition and subsequent removal of two new maps to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward finally explained that new maps will be added to the 2019 shooter.

"Al-Raab Airbase" and "Drainage" quietly appeared in late March, along with fan-favorite classic map "Killhouse." However, while the latter got its own playlist and matchmaking rotation slot, the others were restricted to private custom games, indicating that something was not quite right. A week later, these two maps were unceremoniously removed from the game.

Activision and Infinity Ward remained silent in the process. In fact, many eyebrows were raised at the sudden addition of the three new maps, as Modern Warfare had been kept largely in the dark since the New Year. However, Infinity Ward finally broke their silence last night, explaining that the new maps are not ready for release just yet, but will still be released.

The premature release is something of a recent Call Of Duty trend: nukes in Warzone began dropping weeks before the scheduled nuclear Armageddon, and in both Warzone and Black Ops - Cold War the snazzy new crossbows were accidentally dropped early. were accidentally dropped early in both Warzone and Black Ops - Cold War.

Still, it's nice to see a new map in Modern Warfare; Infinity Ward has largely neglected the game to work on 2022's Call Of Duty. This year, however, Sledgehammer Games will reportedly return the series to World War II.
