General
Epic is giving away five games this week.

The Epic Games Store is offering not one, not two, but five free games this week (technically three, but more on that later).

First up is Deponia: Deponia: The Complete Journey, a bundle of the Deponia trilogy (so "ostensibly three games, but actually five"), follows the slapstick adventures of a self-centered idiot named Rufus. The second and third in the series are unevenly done, but the first is fun and entertaining, and the ending is good enough that you won't feel like you're missing out by not playing the rest.

(Yes, I am someone who has strong opinions about Daedalic adventure games.)

Next up is Ken Follett's "The Pillars of the Earth": in 80% of our reviews, we called it "compelling with real history and interesting characters We called it "a beautiful medieval adventure that tells a compelling story using real history and interesting characters. The final piece of the puzzle is The First Tree, the story of a fox searching for his family. I'm not familiar with the film, but we praised its "breadth of emotional storytelling" in 2017 and "thoroughly enjoyed discovering the pieces of the story as we romped through its gorgeous pastoral landscape and moonlit moorland, fighting the ever-growing lump in our throats."

So, five games, most of them very good, all free, get them before April 22. For more free games, be sure to check out our lists of the best free PC games, the best free games on Steam, the best browser games, and all the free games you can get right now.
