Mass Effect: Legendary Edition now includes a photo mode.

"Mass Effect": The Legendary Edition, which includes graphical enhancements such as 4K, HDR, and ultra-wide display support, frame rate unlocks, and improvements to models, lighting, shaders, and VFX, will launch in May. Yesterday, project director Mac Walters confirmed on Twitter that the Legendary Edition will include a photo mode, allowing players to enjoy this sweet new eye candy.

Simply put, Photo Mode is a way to take screenshots. For example, the photo mode in Control allows the user to adjust the field of view, focal length, aperture, and multiple filters, while that in Cyberpunk 2077 goes even further, allowing the user to pose the character and adjust facial settings.

The possibilities for what the camera can do are almost endless: some users capture amazingly dramatic images (even from mediocre games like "American Truck Simulator"), while others use it to see if Norma Reedus is really peeing her pants in "Death Stranding". (FYI: He didn't.) Some users use it to see if Norma Reedus is really peeing her pants in "Death Stranding. (FYI, he didn't.)

While it remains to be seen how elaborate Mass Effect: Legendary Edition's photo mode will be, Walters' gloomy grayscale Gallus image shows that focal length, aperture settings, filters, character controls, and other features are adjustable. Technical design director Brenon Holmes said on Twitter that the photo mode will be accessible from the mission computer and "can pause the game at any time," adding that it will be available for all three games and all platforms.
