Call of Duty: Warzone's hated Roze operator finally gets a change

If you've been playing "Call of Duty: Warzone" at all lately, you may have noticed that every other player is wearing a black suit with the exact same skin tone. It's Roze's "Near Dark" skin, the most hated face in the game, and players can't seem to get enough of it; while the Roze skin doesn't grant any special stat buffs, her dark attire is basically perfect camouflage on a dark map like Verdansk

Rozhkovic's dark clothes are a perfect camouflage.

Roze has been one of the most volatile topics in the Warzone community since this skin became popular late last year. Players have been complaining about this issue without any word from Raven or Infinity Ward, and help is finally coming: Raven Software has finally acknowledged the problem and will be "tweaking" the skin in a future update. What exactly that means" Raven did not specify, but it is likely that her outfit will be changed in some way to make it brighter or more visible.

As you can see below, her current ability to hide in the shadows means that even in a basic gunfight, you will suddenly have a hard time keeping track of her movements.

Using the Near Dark skin has become synonymous with being a particularly "sweaty" player in the Warzone community, with some protesting its prominence on Reddit and hounding Roze users like some sort of holy bounty hunter Some people. Okay, I have been killed by Roze more times than I can count. It's kind of therapeutic to watch them get crushed.

The issue of readability and "paid" cosmetics has become more pronounced as competitive shooters have built their businesses around premium cosmetics. The Roze case is much like the struggle with the tan/green Ember Rise uniforms that disappear in front of the beige walls of Rainbow Six Siege.

In June 2020, Valve added an optional setting to CS:GO that increases contrast to the player's surroundings; in less realistic games such as Overwatch, a large red outline around enemies and teammates allows the skin to not affect readability.

I think Warzone could benefit from something like CS:GO's contrast options or Siege's 2017 updated lighting paths; Roze represents the worst-case scenario that gives players many dark corners to hide in, but basically any dark colored uniform has the same problem. Maybe the rumored new map at Warzone will bring a little light to Verdansk and give Roze a second chance to be considerably less popular.
