General
If you are building a mid-range PC, this $65 550W PSU is a great choice.

We are well aware that now is not the best time to build a PC. However, if you are looking to build a mid-range gaming PC (at least on the CPU side), it gets a little easier.

It is on sale for $64.99 from the regular price of $119.99 on Amazon. This model has been on sale at the list price for the past few weeks, and prior to that it fluctuated between $75 and $105 depending on the day. The current discount is the cheapest to date.

There is much to like about this PSU. For one, it is a name brand unit. It is also 80 Plus Gold certified, meaning it is a highly efficient model, and EVGA offers a 10-year warranty. The longer warranty period is not just because of the length of the warranty, but because it reflects the manufacturer's confidence in the model.

This is also a fully modular unit. Being fully modular rather than semi-modular (with fixed mains cables) makes assembly a little easier in tight spaces.

Whether 550W is enough depends on the build. I wouldn't try to run a GeForce RTX 3090 with this PSU, but it should at least handle a GeForce RTX 3060 with no problem, although Nvidia recommends a 600W PSU for the Ti variant and a 650W PSU for the GeForce RTX 3070. have seen the latter work fine with a 550W PSU.
