Call of Duty: Warzone" Players Stuck on Regeneration Island After Nuke

Verdansk map in Call of Duty: Warzone has been nuked. Zombies have overrun the map and the powers that be have decided to solve the problem with weapons of mass destruction.

After this event, Verdansk is no longer an option in Warzone's playlist selection. The only mode offered so far is Rebirth Island Resurgence with a night twist. The map opens with the message "15 minutes after Verdansk's destruction" and apparently a new location, the Control Center. Nothing seems to be able to be done there yet, but this appearance may be linked to the continuing shenanigans that Activision has announced for tomorrow.

"Be safe from Verdansk on Rebirth Island," tweeted the official Call of Duty account. The update for consoles will be sent out tonight around 9 p.m. Pacific Time, and players will likely be instructed to return to the game tomorrow, April 22, at 12 p.m. Pacific Time for "updated instructions."

That's vague. This appears to be the end of the Warzone event until that time on Thursday. Could it be that the long-rumored new Warzone map is finally coming?

If so, let's hope Activision has a better plan for players connected to the game. Today's Verdansk destruction event was plagued by server problems, leaving many players (myself included) staring at the server queue screen for hours; Activision extended the deadline by another hour from 2 p.m. for players who couldn't see for themselves. Apparently, if you weren't playing at this point, you were out of luck.
