Razer Announces Eco Toilet Roll Collaboration for Earth Day

Razer has done it again, expanding its "lifestyle" brand into unprecedented territory for the billion-dollar tech company. Heralding the dawn of its latest partnership (I can't believe I'm writing this) is news of a strange announcement: the Razer toilet paper.

Now, it's not actually Razer-branded toilet paper, but as part of a "$50 million war chest to support and invest in environmental and sustainability startups," Razer is known for producing plastic-free disposable bamboo toilet paper announced a collaboration with The Nurturing Co: Bambooloo, and just in time for Earth Day.

At $50 million, it's no small investment for the company, and the collaboration represents yet another addition to Razer's ever-expanding list of sustainable initiatives. Commenting on Razer's investment, David Ward, CEO and founder of The Nurturing Co. said, "Together with Razer, The Nurturing Co. will bring the Bambooloo line of sustainable, low-impact products to even more consumers worldwide. [The Nurturing Co. [The Nurturing Co. claims that a family of four can save more than 30,000 liters of water per year by switching to bamboo toilet paper. This is because bamboo roux toilet paper uses less water and carbon in its production than regular toilet paper made from wood pulp.

As a path to a greener world, Razer has undertaken some impressive initiatives: not only has it helped save 207,670 trees so far with its famous Sneki Snek plush toy campaign, using its famous brand, but the company is also helping clean up the ocean. By funding the collection of 1 kg of ocean plastic for every item sold from its Kanagawa Wave apparel line, Razer has helped remove tons of waste plastic from the world's beaches.

A press release issued by Razer last month outlines the company's 10-year environmental roadmap. The plan is to use 100% renewable energy by 2025 and to use recyclable materials in all Razer products by 2030. By then, the company hopes to completely offset its carbon footprint as well. 11]

Beyond that, according to Razer, it will "continue to invest in other promising sustainability startups focused on renewable energy, carbon, plastics management, and sustainable forestry."
