Call of Duty: Warzone" Event Part 2, New Maps, Big Excitement

After the "Destruction of Verdansk" event, which ended with the entire Call of Duty: Warzone map being nuked, today's part 2 event turns back the clock on Warzone and introduces a new map.

Goodbye Verdansk, Hello Verdansk '84.

The Destruction of Verdansk Part 2 event (many players were locked out due to server capacity) began with a brief return to Rebirth Island, set 15 minutes before Part 1. The sole objective was to secure the nuke and hold it while the other teams fought over it. Essentially, it was a high-stakes version of a hot potato. Once the nuke was fully charged, the team with the nuke could fire it and destroy Verdansk.

I was stuck in the server queue watching streamer TimTheTatman's team successfully hold the nuke until the end. As the nuke was fired, the screen went black and a cutscene played in which time literally rewound. Then, without interruption, players were thrown straight into the new map of Warzone: Verdansk '84.

We had a sneak preview (hands-off) of Verdansk '84 last week and noted some of the biggest changes to the revamped map. While the spirit of Verdansk remains the same, every inch of this huge region has been tweaked in some way. We also learned that after this week's events, players will likely never visit the current Verdansk again.
