In the Viking survival game "Valheim," the lack of mounts limits the means by which players can move around. They can run, sail, or use portals to travel at high speed. That's it. Something feels missing.

No, not a horse. It's a car! Frankly, it's hard to believe that the creators of Valheim didn't think to bring a true-blue eight-wheeled automobile to the game. I mean, in history, Vikings jacked up a 1983 Lincoln Continental, didn't they?

I've been experimenting a bit with Valhiem's Drivable Vehicle Mod, and I have to admit, it's kinda awesome. When you tap the T with this mod installed, a shiny blue whip pops out.

To get in, look at the driver's side door and press E (you can also sit in the passenger seat if you get in from the other side). Once inside the car, do not try to use the WASD keys to move around.

Use the arrow keys to drive and the Y key to brake. If you want to adjust the camera with the mouse, you must take your hand off the arrow keys.

And off to the races we go! You can run over poor, unfortunate gradwarves, hunt deer, or even defend yourself against deathkites.

The steering is very loose, so be careful when going around curves. Unfortunately, you can't hear the engine, so you have to make your own noise, as the great Vikings did when they drove their eerily quiet blue sedans all over Saxon England. We can't even load the trunk with ore, but this sounds like an oversight, so let's not go destroying wooden carts just yet.

The Drivable Vehicle Mod, like all mods, requires BepInExPack Valheim to run, so be sure to install that as well.
