Self-proclaimed Bitcoin inventor admits copyright claim on cryptocurrency white paper.

The High Court in London has given the go-ahead for Craig Steven Wright to file a copyright infringement lawsuit against the publisher of the bitcoin.org website. Mr. Wright claims to be the original author of the Bitcoin White Paper, which outlines the technology behind the cryptocurrency posted on the site in question.

The white paper was written in 2008 and is called Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. The whitepaper was written under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity has long been debated. Craig Wright claims he is Satoshi Nakamoto, but this is disputed.

The paper itself can be found at bitcoin.org, which is why Wright has filed suit against the site's owner. However, it is not known who actually runs bitcoin.org any more than it is known as "Cobra."

Cobra responded to a letter from Wright's lawyer in January on Twitter, along with a post on bitcoin.org, stating that Satoshi Nakamoto has a known PGP public key and that if Wright wanted to prove he was the other Satoshi, he could use it.

The higher court granted Wright's request, so Cobra would have to reveal his identity to meet the request, otherwise the request could be held against Wright.

Bitcoin prices have soared this year, peaking at $63,000.
