Apex Legends and Sale Help Titanfall 2 Hit Record Number of Players on Steam

In the last 24 hours, "Titanfall 2" has hit a new Steam player peak of 16,958, having peaked at 13,427 when it launched in June 2020 and dropping to a few thousand by mid-April. The jump is thanks in part to a Steam sale that dropped the price to $7.50, but Respawn's previous shooter has also seen renewed interest thanks to its current shooter, Apex Legends.

The upcoming Apex Legends Season 9 will feature numerous references to Titanfall 2, which shares the same setting. A recently released video introduces the upcoming legendary Titan pilot, Kairi "Valkyrie" Imahara, who is seen riding her father's mech. Also seen recently is Kuben Brisk, an IMC mercenary who founded Apex Games and has appeared since the first "Titanfall" in 2014.

Meanwhile, Apex Legends will unveil a new mode on April 26 at 8 a.m. PT, which will apparently be "more than a battle royale."
