Acer "Nitro XV2" becomes the first gaming monitor to achieve an astounding 390 Hz.

KitGuru found a listing for the new Acer Nitro XV2 with a FreeSync Premium-enabled 360Hz IPS panel that can be overclocked to 390Hz, the Alienware25AW2521H and the impressive ASUS ROG Swift 360 Hz PG259QN, and several other 360Hz gaming monitors, but Acer has a new speed champion here.

The Acer Nitro XV242Q F features a 24.5-inch 1080p IPS panel. It is also one of the fastest screens available, with a G2G response time of 0.5 ms. This version of the Nitro also maintains an attractive thin bezel and a sleek overall design.

The XV2 also supports the AMD FreeSync Premium specification, which allows the refresh rate to vary with the frame rate of games. This is a monitor designed to display as many frames as technically possible, as long as the GPU is up to the task (not too absurdly priced.) Given the increasing number of games that utilize features like DLSS, utilizing such a high refresh rate is getting a little easier, but you still need a fairly powerful GPU to maximize the full potential of this screen.

No word yet on pricing or release date, but there is a listing of €530, which translates to roughly $730.

Sadly, getting this monitor would be easier than getting a GPU that can drive it. Also, 240-290Hz is overkill even for competitive gaming; please leave me alone as I get killed at the smoothest refresh rate in Call of Duty: Warzone.
