Monoprice is selling a 49" 5120x1440 FreeSync gaming monitor for $800

There are not many 49-inch gaming monitors with 5120x1440 resolution, and those that do exist usually cost upwards of $1,000. But not this one; Monoprice is selling a 49-inch display with the same resolution under the Dark Matter brand for $799.99.

It sells for $100 less than list price, but just as important, it is the least expensive 49-inch monitor with the same ultrawide resolution. The next cheapest is AOC's Agon AG493UCX, which sells for $999.99 on Amazon.

We have not tested Monoprice's monitor, but according to the listing, this 49" is a Samsung VA panel, made with quantum dot technology.

In addition to its pleasing ultrawide resolution and 32:9 aspect ratio (equivalent to using two 27-inch 16:9 monitors, but without the bezels), it also features a fast 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support. It also supports a fast 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync.

The monitor supports up to four physical inputs, so it can be used as a dual or quad display. Or you can immerse yourself in one vast, 49-inch screen and contemplate how you've ever dealt with anything smaller.
