Scavengers, eliminated Twitch key drop.

General
Scavengers, eliminated Twitch key drop.

The free-to-play battle royale hybrid game "Scavengers" got off to a bit of a rocky start in Early Access this week due to server and Steam key issues. Keys could only be claimed by watching streamers playing the game on Twitch, and some viewers were unable to get their hands on keys. Also, Scavengers ran out of Steam keys to actually distribute. As is often the case with newer games, there were also problems with server crashes.

So, it was a bit of a tricky soft launch, but the server issues seem to have been resolved, and players no longer have to keep watching the Twitch stream or checking their inbox for keys.Scavengers will go into Early Access tomorrow, May 1 and will be available for everyone to play.

This is a sudden change of plans; just yesterday the developers said they might "eventually move away from keyed access," but now they seem committed to opening the door. Starting Saturday at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm BST, Scavengers will be available to everyone. Fingers crossed that the servers will hold.
