Naturally, players have already extended the time demo of "Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village".

A 60-minute time-limited demo of "Resident Evil: The Village" has been released on PC, but as is always the case with PC time-limited demos, someone has already found a way to reset the demo's timer and make it continue playing. The exploit modifies files on the computer to trick the game timer into thinking the play time is short.

A Steam forum poster shares a technique that involves a slightly more complicated process that disables Steam Cloud and uses a third-party SAM tool.

The exploit follows Capcom's shutdown of the PC demo servers yesterday, as players found a way to bypass the countdown timer until the demo started.

"Resident Evil: Village" is the eighth installment in Capcom's main series of survival horror games and has been much anticipated not only because of the popularity of the series but also because of the characters it features. Capcom has done extensive media promotion, including a puppet show, in anticipation of the game's May 7 release. For more information, see Everything We Know About Resident Evil Village.
