Wolfenstein Blade of Agony" is a huge Doom mod that took 6 years to create

Wolfenstein This "Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony" is one of the biggest games on GZDoom. This is because this 30-level game looks like an entirely new game. The project took six years to complete, during which time 15 volunteer modders from around the world gathered their wits to create a "true" sequel to id Software's "Wolfenstein 3D".

The result is now playable. The good news is that it's completely standalone and available, meaning you don't have to bother with wads and launchers. And it's free. And it stars B.J. Blazkowicz. All the more reason to hit the download button.

In addition to 30 levels, there's "orchestral quality" music, voice acting, interactive NPCs (useful for talking to monsters), more advanced enemy AI, and many other things you wouldn't normally associate with Doom. mods, you'll probably be surprised if you're not up-to-date.

"It is 1942 and the war is nearing its peak. The Americans are joining the Allied Forces and the Soviets are pushing back the front lines in the east. The tide of the war is turning, and Hitler's victory is becoming more and more out of reach. But the Nazis were not giving in; they were obsessed with human experimentation and occult artifacts, and saw in them the possibility of escape from their final fate. Allied leaders dismiss this possibility as nonsense, but some still fear what the Führer is up to. But the situation is vague and little is certain.

Phil played an early version of "Blade of Agony" in 2017, and even then it looked very promising. There's no reason not to download it now. To get you in the mood, here's the trailer for Episode 3.
